Parliament adjourned for the 5th day due to Opposition's uproar |

Congress-led Opposition stalled proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament for the fifth consecutive day today on various issues including the demand for granting special status to Andhra Pradesh.
The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated adjournments before adjourning finally for the day.
Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress members from Andhra Pradesh trooped into the well of the Lok Sabha, raising slogans in support of their demand. AIADMK members were also seen displaying placards demanding the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.
Taking note of the situation Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House for the day.
The Rajya Sabha also faced a similar situation in the pre-lunch session. When it re-assembled at 2.30 PM, to take up the Private Members’ Business, Congress members forced their entry into the well demanding the immediate arrest of the diamond merchant Nirav Modi.
TDP members showed placards in support of their demand. Deputy Chairman Prof. P J Kurien tried to pacify the agitating members but in vain. Later, he adjourned the House for the day. Now, both the Houses will meet on Monday.
