| | New Delhi

A 15-year-old student of Class X allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan inside her residence in Bharat Nagar area of North-West Delhi on Wednesday evening. Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot and it appears that she was under the pressure of the ongoing board examination.

According to police, the deceased identified as Tannu, a resident of JJ Colony in Wazirpur, was found hanging from a ceiling fan by a neighbour who had gone to their house.

“A PCR call was made by neighbour who also informed the girl’s family members who were out for work. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead,” said a senior police officer.

According to police, Tannu had taken up her board exam on Tuesday and it appears that she was under the pressure of the ongoing board examination.

“The family has stated that she was upset after her Tuesday's exam. However, since the deceased did not leave behind a suicide note, we are probing all angles,” added a senior police officer. Police said that the girl's parents claimed that they are daily wage labourers and no pressure was on mounted by them on her for studies. Police have been told that she was average in studies.
