Women’s Day celebrated in Garhwa

Under the banner of Swachh Bharat Mission, district administration organised a programme on the occasion of International women's Day at RAV High School here on Thursday. Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Neha Arora, SP Mohammad Arshi and local MLA Satyendra Nath Tiwari jointly inaugurated the programme.

On the occasion minister said women are the backbone of the society. The Union as well as State Government has been started several development programme for the benefits of women. By taking advantage of the schemes women are becoming self reliant.

MLA Satyendra Tiwari said that wisdom is still needed to spread awareness among women. The myth of witch-hood has not yet ended completely, even now the Ojha, ghost, in the village are recognised. Without the development of women any country cannot develop.

Dr. Ragini Agrwal also addressed the function. Women of different departments played an act on child marriage which was appreciated by the people. Women also presented several programmes including song, poetry etc.
