Veernaris felicitated

Twelve veernaris (widows of slain armed forces personnel) were felicitated on International Women’s Day on Thursday, at the Telangana State Sainik Welfare department at Sainik Aramghar complex

Anuradha Rao, president Telangana and Andhra Sub Area AWWA and wife of Major General N.Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) graced the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Charulatha Acharya, wife of Major Padmapani Acharya, Mahavir Chakra (posthumous), thanked Sainik Welfare department for honouring the veernaris.

Col Ramesh Kumar, Director, Sainik Welfare Telangana State, said that the nation was proud of women who are joining the Armed Forces and actively participating in ensuring the territorial integrity of the nation. Mrs. Anuradha Rao stated that women deserve the full credit for fulfilling the family responsibility and shaping up children while their husbands were protecting the nation on the borders.
