Two-time All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy agreed to a one-year contract with the Oakland Athletics on Friday, according to multiple reports.

The deal is expected to be formally announced once Lucroy passes a physical.

Lucroy reportedly turned down a three-year, $21 million offer from the Colorado Rockies in November but there were initially no takers in the relatively quiet baseball free agent market.

Lucroy, 31, split last season with the Texas Rangers and Rockies and batted .265 with six homers and 40 RBIs.

Not too long ago, Lucroy was one of the top catchers in the majors. He finished fourth in National League MVP balloting in 2014 when he batted .301 with 13 homers, a league-leading 53 doubles and 69 RBIs for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Overall, Lucroy has a .281 career average with 96 homers and 458 RBIs in eight big league seasons.
