NEW DELHI: In line with market barometer Sensex, BSE Midcap index was also trading in the green zone in Friday's trade.

Around 10:55 am (IST), the BSE Midcap index was 0.17 per cent up at 16,071, while the BSE Sensex was 0.24 per cent up at 33,430. The NSE Nifty50 index was 0.23 per cent up at 10,266.

Shares of Vakrangee (up 4.82 per cent), Piramal Enterprises (up 3.20 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (up 2.67 per cent), L&T Finance Holdings (up 2.20 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance Company (up 1.81 per cent), SJVN (up 1.67 per cent), Indian Hotels Company (up 1.66 per cent), Page Industries (up 1.60 per cent), Bharat Electronics (up 1.59 per cent), Whirlpool of India (up 1.30 per cent) and Endurance Technologies (up 1.11 per cent) were the top gainers in the BSE Midcap index.

On the other hand, Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 4.31 per cent), Reliance Communications (down 3.78 per cent), Adani Enterprises (down 3.73 per cent), Canara Bank (down 3.37 per cent), Central Bank of India (down 2.94 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.46 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 2.32 per cent), Petronet LNG (down 1.89 per cent), PNB Housing Finance (down 1.69 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company (down 1.68 per cent), IDBI Bank (down 1.60 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 1.51 per cent) were among top losers in the index around the same time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

HDFC, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers in the Sensex index, each gaining over 1 per cent.

However, Tata Steel, Adani Ports and State Bank of India declined over 1 per cent in the Sensex index.
