Police said Arjunan suffered multiple injuries all over the body and was admitted at the Government Rajaji Hospital. Arjunan, a student of the Government Higher Secondary School at Thiruvathavur, was attacked by the two students, one of whom used a knife, when he was about to enter the examination hall, officials said. Police said the students used to clash frequently over seating arrangements and this could be the reason behind the attack.
