Jaipur: Active western disturbances in the state on Friday brought fresh troubles for the farmers. Mild showers were witnessed in the districts including Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer, Chittorgarh and some parts of Sikar. In its forecast Jaipur Met office said that dust storm, hailstorm and rainfall are likely to occur at many places in north-eastern Rajasthan.
Cloudy conditions prevailed across the state on Friday evening when some places in Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer, Chittorgarh and a few places in Sikar witnessed mild showers. It guided mercury to take a dip, however, it has again made farmers in the state jittery. A week ago similar spell of rainfall followed by hailstorm had badly affected the crop of wheat and barley in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Dausa and Alwar districts of the state.
Attributing the climatic change to the passing of western disturbances and vanishing of northerly winds the Jaipur Met office said that mild to moderate showers will occur at many places in the north-eastern parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
Earlier in the day weather remained dry in the state when Barmer remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius was recorded. Jaipurites woke up to a comparatively warmer morning as a maximum temperature of 19.1 degrees Celsius, almost 3 degrees above the normal notch was recorded. It was followed by a sunny noon having a maximum temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius. Thereafter, cloudy conditions prevailed in the city and in the evening dust storms and mild showers were witnessed at Sitapura, Sanganer, Mansarovar and Malviya Nagar localities.
