Residents of Banti-Nagar in Vidisha came out on road, when a electric line broken down and fell down on the houses of local residents. They said that the wire was live and could electrocute any one living there.
The matter was settled after the Tehseeldar intervened in the matter. People of the area said breaking of Live Electric Wires is very common when there is rain with winds. Short Rains with winds has become common phenomenon in non-rainy seasons.
Even after taking advance measures such incidents are taking place. If someone touch the downed line with your hand or an object, such as a stick, broom or pole he may be electrocuted. Children usually play who may come in contact with fallen electric lines.
Now a days traffic is so heavy that every moment some two wheelers or cars are passing may result into any untoward incident. Although there are regulations for electrical wiring, over current protection, grounding, and installation of equipment. Still electrical safety in residential area is highly in risk.
Executive officer Tehseeldar agreed to the demands of public for shifting electrical lines to the side of the road as they are passing over the houses at present. After the intervention power supply was was reestablished.
