Man held with 22kg marijuana worth Rs 3.3L

Thane: The anti narcotics cell of crime branch nabbed a 45-year-old man from Odisha with 22kg of marijuana worth Rs 3.30 lakh from Kalyan station area on Thursday. Based on a tip-off, the cops laid a trap and caught Jaya Sahi outside Kalyan station area.
“He took a train to come here and sell the drugs but we nabbed him. We are probing other links,” said a police officer.

Another anti narcotics cell team probing two Visakhapatnam based residents who were found in possession of marijuana has arrested a man from Aarku in Andhra Pradesh.


The police said that the accused duo, Victor Joseph (47) and Balla Badarao (32) were nabbed in a trap led by the sleuths on Sunday.


After being grilled, the duo named Gangadhar Shetty and a team nabbed team him on Thursday.


“The accused lives near the Naxal-infested area and the connections, if any, with them will be probed after thorough investigation,” said a police officer.
