Young boy dies after being hit by van

A four-year-old boy has died at Lady Cilento Hospital after being hit by a car in Dalby on Sunday.

The boy was hit by a van at the intersection of Drayton and Arthur streets about 7pm.

The boy suffered significant head injuries after he ran onto the road and was hit by the van.

He was originally treated at Dalby Hospital before being airlifted to Lady Cilento Hospital but passed away on Thursday afternoon.

Mikaa Ives, the boy’s cousin, said her heart broke for her uncle and aunty who had lost their son.

“They have another six children to care for,” she wrote on a fundraising page.

“We are all beyond devastated and heartbroken.”
