CM lauds social media

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that social media should be used constructively for widespread welfare of public. He said that the social media is the most progressive media.

To stop publicity of negative incidents and false information, the social media should remain active, alert and careful while bringing facts to light. This will help in creating a positive environment in the society. Chouhan was addressing a training workshop of social media organised for public relation officers.

Chouhan said that there is possibility for liaisoning between general public and the Government in social media. People must essentially have information of all welfare and development activities of the Government. This is their right. He said that it is a great job to take the positive activities to the people and make them priority news. This can be made easy through a little specialisation and training.

The Chief Minister said that the social media works at a fast pace. Hence, spreading false information creates rumours. To tackle this, accurate facts should be presented timely. It is essential to spread good and inspiring news that develop positive thinking in the society. For this one has to remain active and alert while working skillfully. He said that positive works and creative development strategies should be presented as value based news.

Discussing innovative and unique schemes and efforts, Chouhan said that it is the need of the hour to make effective use of social media to provide information to citizens and take it to the general beneficiaries. On the innovative and result-oriented schemes of the Government, the Chief Minister said that these schemes should be present on all platforms of social media so that maximum people benefit from it. Besides the Government can be apprised of the opinions of the general public and proposed beneficiaries so that necessary improvements can be made with immediate effect.

In his welcome address, Commissioner Public Relations P Narhari told that work has begun to ensure effective presence of activities and innovative schemes of various departments on social media. Beneficiaries who have availed benefits from the Government schemes and changed their lifestyle, they were also urged to inspire others by remaining active of social media.

Principal Secretary SK Mishra welcomed the Chief Minister. Additional Director Public Relations Suresh Gupta, Additional Secretary Public Relations HL Choudhury, Executive Director Madhya Pradesh Madhya Mangla Mishra and senior officers were present on the occasion.
