The first academic institute-based Visionary Learning Community of India’s -Centre of Excellence (VLCI’s-CoE) was set up at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology in Belagavi.
The centre has been established with the collaboration of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency) on Tuesday.
The VLCI-CoE will help develop next generation Manufacturing Change Leaders (engineering graduates) through a unique teaching-learning process of (30-70 ) classroom teaching and industrial training. The CoE will also train the faculty and industrialists about flow management system and productivity improvement.
Breakthrough management expert and Chief Mentor of VLCI, Shoji Shiba, and Takeyuki Furuhashi of Japan, inaugurated the centre.
Kripa Shanker of IIT Kanpur, U.N. Kalkundrikar, chairman of the governing council, GC, Vinayak Lokur, Member, KLS, A.S. Deshpande, Principal, and J.K. Kittur, head of the department of mechanical engineering were present, according to a release.
