LUCKNOW : With just a few days left for this
financial year to end,
Lucknow Municipal Corporation is still short of 50% in its tax collection target of Rs 250 crore.
The corporation has identified around 80 properties which have failed to pay tax for several years. The total amount of the pending tax and penalty on it is so much that it will fulfil the collection gap of
LMC to some extent.
LMC has begun a drive to seal such properties one by one.
"The crackdown is more severe this year. There is no relief to
defaulters. If they fail to adhere to the notice, their houses will be sealed to recover the tax amount," said an official.
