NAGPUR: Songs composed in the new era, which are still fresh in the minds of music lovers, were presented in ‘Nayi Umang Naye Tarane’ programme held at
Scientific Society Hall, on Tuesday.
Organized by Avishkar Kala Sanstha to mark its silver jubilee year, the programme began with a ‘tarana’ in chorus and was followed by ‘Hey Gajvadan’ in praise of Lord Ganesh.
Sakshi Sarode presented ‘Hawa ke jhoke' and ‘Raffu’ in fusion with ‘Iktaara’ and the latest popular hit ‘Ghoomar’ which earned her a huge round of applause from the audience.
Janhavi Haridas’s ‘Mohe rang do laal’, ‘Silsila yeh Chhat ka’ and ‘Badmash dil’ had the spectators tapping their feet.
Mansi Deshpande sung ‘Kahna hi kya’, ‘Kyu na mose bole Mohan’ and ‘Kaisi paheli’.
Atharva Joshi lit up the stage with ‘Dil se re’, ‘Sayyoni’ and ‘Bulleya’. Rucha Yenurkar mesmerized the crowd with ‘Kaun tujhe yoon’, a popular romantic hit from the movie ‘MS Dhoni’. She also presented ‘Deewana mastani’.
Further duet renditions like 'Luka Chipi' was rendered by Director of AKS Smita Joshi and Atharva Joshi. Hairate Aashiqui, 'Mere Dhol na sunn', 'Moh Moh ke dhage', 'Pinga Ga pori', were dually performed. The show concluded with ‘Albela Sajan’.
Pramod Pendse, general secretary of Maitree Parivar Sanstha, was the chief guest. RJ Nidhi hosted the show.
Rajni Hooda who proposed introductory speech presented vote of thanks.
