Female staff man Dharwad station on Women’s Day

Hubballi: The South Western Railways organized a host of activities on International Women’s Day. In a first of its kind initiative in the division, Dharwad railway station was chosen to be manned completely by women staff. All the roles at the station like station manager, booking/reservation/parcel clerks and supervisors, ticket checking staff, pointsman/ shunting staff and RPF security staff were carried out by women employees of the Hubballi division. Train no. 56902 Dharwad-Hubballi daily passenger was manned by women crew. A total of 16 railway staff in various capacities manned the station. This initiative also received overwhelming response from the public.
