Youth who raped minor held in Chittorgarh, survivor in ICU

Udaipur: Chittorgarh police on Thursday arrested Kishan (20) who had abducted and raped a five-year-old kid a day back in Bhadesar town of Chittorgarh district.
According to police, the accused was living in the same colony and was in the habit of molesting little girls in the neighbourhood. However, no police complaint had been lodged against him before, police said.

Meanwhile, the child's condition is said to have improved after surgery was conducted by a medical board of the RNT Medical College in Udaipur. The board has given their report to the acting principal Dr A K Verma. Though the child is better now, yet she has been kept in the intensive care unit and under observation, sources informed.

"The accused Kishanlal was living in the same colony where the girl's mother was also living. The woman had gone to a relative's wedding on Tuesday night and returned late. She saw her kids sleeping with their grandmother and hence couldn't realize that the little child was missing,” circle inspector Himanshu Singh Rajawat told TOI.

Around 3.30 am when she woke up, she started searching for her when she didn't see the child. Later in the morning, people informed her of the kid dumped in bushes.

“Kishan confessed that he took away the child from her home around 9.30 pm when others were fast asleep. He raped and left her in a critically bleeding situation at a secluded place behind bushes. Early morning, he went at the spot to check whether the child was alive and finding her gasping, he informed someone of the locality that a child was lying there" the officer said.

During interrogation police came to know who saw the child first and when they asked the accused why he had gone there so early, he said he had gone for defection.

"He couldn’t provide a satisfactory answer as the mug which he claimed to have carried water in for defection, appeared not to have been used for months. Secondly, the accused had a toilet at his home," the cop added.

People who knew him also said that at several instances, they had seen the accused attempting to get physical with little girls by holding their hands, kissing them etc but no one had ever complained against him that gave him the guts to commit such a heinous act. The accused would be produced before the court on Friday, police said.
