This new store is part of its efforts to enter the ‘Pre-owned motorcycle’ segment in the Indian market. The company will deal exclusively with pre-owned, refurbished or even restored motorcycles in the Vintage Store. The company went on to claim that such an undertaking is the “first-of-its-kind” in the industry.

Royal Enfield added that this new format is aimed at existing Royal Enfield customers who are looking to sell their old motorcycles. The process is transparent while offering a reliable way for potential customers to buy pre-owned motorcycles what have been tested properly and certified by the company. The company believes that this store will help customers looking to upgrade their bikes, build on their collection and first time buyers looking for a cheaper entry to the Royal Enfield club.

Shaji Koshy, the India Head+ Business for Royal Enfield added, “At Royal Enfield, we are constantly working towards offering new experiences and formats for our customers. With Vintage, we have created a place where epic motorcycling journeys, experiences, and stories will never end and will be passed on from one owner to another. We have observed healthy demand for refurbished and pre-owned Royal Enfield motorcycles, and believe that this business will continue to grow. We are targeting to open ten Vintage stores across the country in the first year.”

The company added that there will be three lines of motorcycles at the Vintage Store, including “Pre-owned” and “Refurbished”, where a thorough quality check is done and the bike suitably refurbished. “Restored” motorcycles will be a third category, which will include vintage bikes restored to their original glory. The refurbishment and repairs will be done by ‘trained Royal Enfield technicians’ using genuine parts and spares. The company will also conduct a 92-point quality check to ensure the quality of all the bikes. Lastly, the company will launch 10 Vintage stores across the country in the first year.
