Asia:EAIC to convene in Manila on 6-9 May; early-bird registration available till 15 Mar

The 29th East Asian Insurance Congress (EAIC) will be held in Manila on 6-9 May, and to encourage more participants to the bienniel event, the early-bird registration period is extended till 15 March.

The theme of this year's Congress is “Managing Disruptions, Driving Change”.

The EAIC aims to be different this year as the organisers will strive to draw more life market players to the event as the grouping targets the whole insurance industry—both life and general—and not just the nonlife players.

In this connection, the EAIC programme this year includes the presentation of the 2018 Asia Life Agent Awards that is organised by the Asia Insurance Review. AIR is also the official media partner of the EAIC.

The EAIC 2018 organisers are the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) and the Philippine Life Insurance Association. The National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines (Nat Re), a member organisation of PIRA, is actively involved as the official administrator of conference funds.

In 1962, the EAIC was founded with the ultimate goal of furthering and developing international collaboration in the field of insurance of every sort. Every other year, the hosting of the EAIC rotates across member cities to continue the networking mission across the region.

This year's conference is different from those of previous years in that it will be staged for the first time in the first half of the year instead of in the customary second half, so as to attract as many participants as possible.
