Students attempt to snatch chain, thrashed by locals

Coimbatore: Two Class VIII students of a corporation school, who allegedly attempted to snatch gold chain from a woman at Selvapuram here on Thursday afternoon, were thrashed by the locals and handed over to the Selvapuram police.
According to the police, the minor boys used to inhale the thinner for getting high. The two told the police that they hadn’t attempted to snatch the chain, but the police summoned their parents and advised the duo not to involve any criminal offences in future. The duo was later let off with a severe warning.
