Thane: The sessions court on Wednesday deferred the order on the bail application of the country’s first woman private detective Rajani Pandit, 61, till Friday. Earlier, the magistrate court had rejected the bail plea and Pandit moved the bail plea to the sessions court which came up for hearing on Tuesday in the court of A S Bhaisare.

The counsel for Pandit argued in the court that that her role in the probe was over and that her presence was not required in the case as all the data and official documents from her office were in custody of the police who are analysing it.

The defense also said that their client had not purchased the call detail record but it was the other accused that had purchased the it from her.

Assistant police inspector Aviraj Kurhade pointed out that the case was serious in nature and she should not be given bail.
