In Uttar Pradesh, all major political parties have intensified their poll campaigning for Phulpur and Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat bye-elections.
AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that tomorrow is last day of campaigning and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has put its several leaders including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, State Unit President Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey for canvassing.
Mr Yogi is scheduled to address about half a dozen Public meetings today at both the constituencies.
Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has addressed a public meeting yesterday at Gorakhpur and sharply criticised the BJP. BSP has announced to support the SP candidates in both the seats.
Congress State Unit President Raj Babbar and former Minister Sriprakash Jaisawal and RP Singh have addressed Public meetings at Phulpur and Gorakhpur.
Party has categorically said that it would contest the poll and will not support to SP candidate. Party has alleged that some elements are trying to spread rumour about withdrawal of Party nominees from the fray.Polling will be held on March 11 and counting of votes on March 14.
Both the bye-polls have been necessitated following the resignation of UP CM Mr Yogi and Dy CM Mr Maurya from Lok Sabha after their elections to State Legislative Council.
