Fresh Move to curb air pollution

New Delhi: To check air pollution from residue burning, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved promotion of agricultural mechanisation for Management of Crop Residue for Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. As per the decision, 80 per cent financial assistance of the project cost will be provided to the cooperatives societies of farmers, self help groups and registered farmers societies and groups. The Government will also provide 50 per cent financial assistance of the machinery or equipment to individual farmers under crop residue management.

Rahul on Singapore, Malaysia tour

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi left for a five-day trip to Singapore and Malaysia during which he will reach out to the Indian diaspora, meet the Singapore and Malaysian Prime Ministers, address members of the Overseas Congress and meet  representatives of the Indian community. Rahul will also interact with alumni of IIMs.
