Fresh Move to curb air pollution
New Delhi: To check air pollution from residue burning, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved promotion of agricultural mechanisation for Management of Crop Residue for Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. As per the decision, 80 per cent financial assistance of the project cost will be provided to the cooperatives societies of farmers, self help groups and registered farmers societies and groups. The Government will also provide 50 per cent financial assistance of the machinery or equipment to individual farmers under crop residue management.
