Dejected over being cheated by the recruitment team of a multi-national company, a 25-year-old MBA graduate ended his life by hanging at his home in Balaji Nagar of Kukatpally on Tuesday night, police said.
M Ganga Mahesh of Jagityal town was living with his friends in a rented apartment in Kukatpally here.
Kukatpally police said they recovered a suicide note from his pocket, in which Mahesh stated that he paid ₹ 3.2 lakh to three persons working in a reputed MNC in Bengaluru after they promised a job in their company through ‘backdoor entry’, but cheated him.
“In the note, he blamed Nageshwara Rao Relangi, Srinivas and Borra Nagesh,” said Mohammed Majeed Ali, sub-inspector, Kukatpally.
Mr. Ali said Mahesh quit the job he had had for over two years and went to Bengaluru. “After shifting, he was unemployed for six months and when he realised that the trio cheated him, he returned to his native place a month ago. Since then Mahesh had been trying to get a job and was unsuccessful,” said Mahesh’s uncle, Ch. Ramu.
A week ago, Mr. Ramu said, Mahesh moved to Hyderabad and was staying with his former colleagues. While shifting to Bengaluru, he informed his family that he secured a job in a MNC, thinling it would be a breakthrough in his career. “Mahesh never told us that he paid such a huge amount to get a job and was cheated. When he returned to Jagityal, he told us that he successfully completed the project assigned to him,” Mr. Ramu said. Police suspect depression led to suicide.
