JAIPUR: Life of 72-year-old woman who suffered
cardiac arrest mid-air while she was travelling to Chandigarh from Mumbai in a flight was saved by the crew members and ground staff at Jaipur airport on Thursday morning.
The Chandigarh bound Indigo flight 6E495 had an
emergency landing at the Jaipur airport and the woman was rushed to nearby EHCC hospital with the help of airport staff.

Sitalaxmi Menon (72) complaining of chest pain and respiratory problems informed the cabin crew and captain. The captain directly interacted with the air traffic control (ATC), Jaipur and asked for the permission of emergency landing.
“With proper coordination the flight landed at Jaipur airport and the woman was rushed to the hospital with the help of Indigo staff and her relatives. We were later informed that she is admitted and is undergoing treatment. It is a nice feeling that life of the woman was saved,” said
Jaideep Singh Balhara, director, airport authority of india(AAI), Jaipur told TOI.
Authorities also ensured that woman should be taken on a wheel-chair up to the ambulance.
Capitan of the flight had informed the ATC about the medical emergency and without wasting much time the plane was grounded. Even the passengers on board also enquired about the health of the woman before the plane could take off to Chandigarh. “Everyone especially her co-passengers were keen to know about her health. People had a sigh of relief when informed that woman could timely reach at the hospital for proper medication,” said a senior officer of ATC.
