Minister for Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani has said that the strength of women should be celebrated everyday and not only on a particular occasion like International Women's Day. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, Ms Irani said, women has the ability to lead the nation and to bring a change in the society.
She said, women should be respected everyday and everyone should help the women so that they can achive their dreams. She said, men should be sensitive towards the issues and problems of women. During the interview Ms Irani highlighted various initiative taken by the Narendra Modi Government like MUDRA Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana towards women empowerment.
The Minister who also holds the portfolio of Textiles Ministry, said, 70 per cent employees of Garment sector are women and the Government has announced 6 thousand crore rupees for the sector. She said, in the budget of 2018-19, the Government has decided to reduce EPF contribution for women in the Garment sector so that they can save more money.
