On International Women’s Day, Allahabad Junction becomes women friendly

ALLAHABAD: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, new initiatives were taken by Allahabad division of North Central Railways (NCR) to provide facilities especially for female passengers and employees in the station premises.

At Allahabad junction, president NCRWWO (women welfare organization) Anita Chauhan commissioned automatic vending machine for dispensing sanitary napkins and initiator for the same at the first class waiting room. A new baby feeding room and change room was also dedicated by her at the same venue to our female passengers, commuting via Allahabad Junction. Tanuja Pankaj along with other members were present.


The baby feeding room has been equipped with hand dryers, sofa, table and other essential amenities to provide a better and secured ambiance to feeding mothers.


In addition to this, same facilities were commissioned at Kanpur station by a group of female employees led by Rekha Gupta and Sonali Tiwari. An innovative steps has been taken by Allahabad division to declare Govindpuri station as “Women station” where all railway employee shall be female and after successful trial of the scheme on this station, other station shall also be manned on this scheme.


DRM Allahabad, SK Pankaj was present at Govindpuri station and he congratulated all the railway employees while dedicating “Female station” on the occasion of International Women Day.
