‘Myst’ Remake? Developer Teases Something With Series Of Tweets

Myst developer Cyan is teasing something, and it looks like it’s a remake of the classic puzzle/adventure game. This information comes from the company’s Twitter account and website.
The developer released a series of Tweets yesterday which form the phrase “perhaps the ending has not yet been written…” The cryptic messages culminated in a picture of the iconic book from Myst, along with a sticky note that says “25.”

This seems to be pointing towards a Myst remake for the game’s 25th anniversary. Myst was originally released for PC and Mac back in 1993, and has since been ported to more than 10 different platforms. Many updates to Myst have been released since, with the most recent edition being 2014’s realMyst: Masterpiece Edition. This version allows players to move freely around the world of Myst, as opposed to the original frame-by-frame movement.
However, it’s possible the cryptic messages are actually teasing something new. The message about the ending having not been written yet definitely implies there is more to the story that we haven’t seen. It’s possible whatever remake is in the works could include a bonus chapter at the end revealing more information about the world of Myst, or this could be teasing a new game altogether.
To know what’s going on for certain, be sure to follow the Cyan Twitter account for the most up-to-date information.
