Market Now: Idea Cellular, PNB among most active stocks in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 0.39 crore), Punjab National Bank (0.35 crore) and Ashok Leyland (0.31 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in morning trade on Thursday.
Adani Ports SEZ (0.20 crore), State Bank of India (0.20 crore), ICICI Bank (0.18 crore), PFC (0.15 crore), ITC (0.14 crore), Vedanta (0.11 crore), YES Bank (0.10 crore), Tata Power (0.10 crore) and SAIL (0.10 crore) were also in the same league.
Benchmark indices jumped over half-a-per cent on Thursday morning as investors judged the recent slide as excessive.
The NSE Nifty index was trading 70 points up at 10,224, while the BSE Sensex was up 258 points at 33,291 around 09:35 am (IST).
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 pack, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Housing Development Finance Corporation, Reliance Industries and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
However, Bharti Infratel, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, YES Bank, Coal India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Hindalco Industries were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
