A well-known Bengaluru-based jewellery chain has filed a cheating complaint against 15 executives of a car showroom for allegedly selling them a defective BMW eight years ago.
The complainant, Vijender Singh Kadyan, human resources manager of the company, approached the Commercial Street police station on Wednesday. The police have registered an FIR based on his complaint against Navneet Motors.
In his complaint, Mr. Kadyan said that his company had bought the vehicle for official purposes for ₹76,76,599 in 2010. “He claims that the car was not functioning properly and they ran up bills totalling ₹56 lakh in servicing fees,” said the police.
"We have registered a case and will question executives of the car showroom,” a senior police officer said.
