Nagpur: Absconding BJP leader Omprakash alias Munna Yadav on Wednesday moved a plea for anticipatory bail before the sessions court. Judge ST Bhalerao while issuing notices to the state home department and Dhantoli police station, asked them to reply before Friday. His younger brother Bala also moved similar application through counsel Uday Dable. Both applications would be heard together on Friday.

The accused brothers moved for bail after 280-page charge sheet was filed by the police who dropped the major charge of ‘attempt to murder’ under Section 307 of IPC. Yadav, who was made Maharashtra State Construction Workers’ Welfare Board chairman by CM Devendra Fadnavis, is absconding for over four months now. He is already facing many criminal charges with 12 complaints registered against him in various police stations. He withdrew his bail application from the high court when it was about to be dismissed.

Last week, the crime branch had filed a charge sheet under section 326 of IPC, among other sections, for rioting and causing grievous hurt against him and other aides.
