WATCH: Warner opens up on De Kock comments

2018-03-08 16:34

Port Elizabeth - Australian batsman David Warner has given a heart-felt account of his version of events following his confrontation with Quinton de Kock.

The pair clashed on Sunday during tea time of the fourth day of the first Test at Kingsmead, and since then players and management from both sides have given their views of what transpired.

Video footage of the confrontation has emerged in three different forms this week, and on Wednesday the ICC fined both players - Warner 75% of his match fee and De Kock 25% - for bringing the game into disrepute.

On Thursday, the day before the second Test in Port Elizabeth, Warner opened up on the whole series of events.

In an interview with cricket.com.au, the 31-year-old is adamant that De Kock made a "disgusting" and "vile" comment about Warner's wife, Candice.

In the interview, Warner insists that at no point did the Australians "get personal" with De Kock when the Proteas wicketkeeper was the victim of a series of sledges out in the middle.
