Man caught for murdering daily wager for Rs 150

In a shocking revelation, Haridwar police said that the 35- year- old wage earner from Champaran district of Bihar living in Rishikesh, whose body was found in Haridwar had been killed just for Rs 150.  He had been allegedly bludgeoned to death. Besides, as per the post mortem report, his body had borne signs of being smothered.  Police further said that the accused who hails from Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh and who has been tagged with six cases has been arrested. 

According to police, Chandrabhaga Ramesh Mahanto had been killed while he was coming to Haridwar on a train for work.  Speaking of the matter, in-charge GRP police station Rajendra Singh said that one  Irshad of Mohalla Pathanpura, Najibabad in Bijnor district was arrested from Motichur railway station. “We recovered the ATM card of the deceased from the accused. Besides, we recovered Rs 150  from the accused, the sum seemingly stolen from the deceased.  He was earlier booked in six cases and sent to jail. He came back to Rishikesh after committing the murder.”
