The issue was raised in the legislative council on Wednesday by Congress MLC Anand Gadgil who said of the 53 projects sanctioned two years ago only two had been taken up. The city has received only Rs 500 crore for the many projects, he said.
Fadnavis said 60 projects had been sanctioned and of these ten had already been completed as on February 2018. He said work orders had been issued for 24 projects while four were at the tender level. In case of 22 projects the proposals were still being prepared.
“The projects include laying of various civic infrastructure such as a water pipeline around the city, parking lots etc. Some of these will take more than two years to be completed. We have raised more than Rs 4,000 crore through municipal bonds for these works,” he said.
The government, he added, had sanctioned ten acres for a scientific waste processing plant at Hadapsar on the condition that there will be no dumping.
