Bhadrachalam to host 12-day festivities from March 18

The kalyana mandapam situated at the centrally-located Mithila Stadium in Bhadrachalam town is being spruced up for the ensuing celestial wedding of Lord Rama with His consort Sita to be held on Sri Rama Navami on March 26.

The temple town is set to host the 12-day Sri Rama Navami Tiru Kalyana Brahmotsavalu from March 18. The annual Brahmotsavalu would begin coinciding with Ugadi and conclude on April 1, the temple sources said.

The Endowments Department, in association with the other government departments, has already devised an action plan to install five LCD display screens, 36 TVs, 40 air-coolers, 200 fans and an air-conditioning unit on the premises of Midhila Stadium for the benefit of devotees, who are likely to turn up in hordes to watch the Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsavam on March 26. Special arrangements are being made at the enclosure earmarked for the VVIPs. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would present mutyala talambralu on behalf of the State government to the ‘divine couple’ on the occasion of the Kalyana Mahotsavam, the sources added. Maha Pattabishekotsavam (coronation ceremony) would be held at the same venue on March 27.
