25 injured in Udaipur bee attack

Udaipur: Twenty five persons were injured when a swarm of bees attacked them in two different incidents in Kanore town of Vallabh Nagar block in Udaipur on Thursday.

During a religious function organised at Bheruji temple, bees from a nearby tree attacked the devotees. Fourteen people were injured in the incident who were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.


In another case, 11 people of Manpura village had gone to attend a funeral. They were attacked by the bees. People ran to nearby fields to take shelter but many were stung by the bees. The victims were taken to Badi Sadri and Kanore hospitals.


According to locals, attacks by bees are common in the area. However, people do not report the cases to the administration or forest department.
