Sikkim to ban supply of non-organic produces from outside: CM

The government will issue an executive order to ban supply of non-organic produces from outside from March 31, Chief Kumar Chamling said today. "We have decided to ban supply of non-organic produces from outside the state with effect from March 31 and it will be done through an executive order," Chamling informed the Assembly. The ban on non-organic produces will not only empower the farmers of in a big way, but will also set an example to other states to emulate organic path to livelihood, the chief said. was declared as the country's first organic state two years ago.
