A 9-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by his Arabic teacher in the Old City.
The incident took place in the Madina Colony in the Falaknuma Police station limits. Cops identified the accused as M. Irfan (22) who is from Tandur and resides in the same area.
Cops said that the accused teaches at a small madrasa in the area everyday for two hours. It was after reaching the madrasa the accused took the victim to the toilet and groped him. He then threatened the boy not to tell his parents what happened. However, the boy went home and told his father what the maulvi had done after which the father lodged a complaint.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered. The accused is absconding.
