Perumal Murugan, Sethu, Kalki Subramaniam, Satchidanandan, and Kureeppuzha Sreekumar are among writers and activists scheduled to interact with the audience and speak at the International Festival of Books and Authors at Bolgatty Palace in the city on Wednesday.
The sessions include those on ideas that changed the world; arts and society, Malayalam and world literature; theatre and cinema; India since 1990; idea of equality; artist and society; living aesthetics, and knowledge freedom.
Economist C.P. Chandrashekhar is among the speakers at the session on ideas that changed the world with the theme Revisiting Capital in the Age of Crises. Cultural fascism and nationalism; state of Malayalam criticism, and poetry across frontiers are the other themes that will be discussed during various sessions.
Koodiyattam performance by Usha Nangyar will be another highlight. K.K. Hariharan and Kalamandalam Jayaraj (mizhavu) and Kalanilayam Kaladharan Marar (edakka) will accompany. The performance is scheduled to commence at 6 p.m. at the venue of Krithi International Book Festival at Marine Drive, the organisers said.
