Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (J) supremo, Ajit Jogi has said that regional parties across the nation are now going to make a giant alliance to fight both the BJP and the Congress in 2019 general elections.
A proposal regarding the same was given by me and Trinamool Congress Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, he said.
Jogi while addressing a press conference here said that through a telephonic call , the West Bengal Chief Minister said that the Congress party does not have enough strength in itself to give a fight to BJP.
The Left also is decimated and there is no hope from that party too. It was thus the need of the hour that the regional parties in states must get united and form a third front to combat the ‘communal force’ in the coming general elections.
Efforts are on for the formation of third front and talks with Samajwadi Party of Akhilesh Yadav, Telangana Rashtra Samithi of Chandrashekhar Rao, Trinamool Congress of Mamata Banerjee as well as with DMK and AIDMK, he said.
“We are trying to associate with us the regional parties which are not in alliance with either BJP or Congress, Jogi said. Bahujan Samaj Party has been kept away as it has a possible ally with Congress. It is also beneficial for us as it would be in interest of third front", Jogi said.
