BJP leader and former MP C P Radhakrishnan condemned the attack on party office and requested the cadre to maintain law and order in Tamil Nadu.
“We will cooperate with the police. We request the state government not to just arrest those who hurled kerosene bombs on the office but also to arrest the brain behind the entire incident,” he said.
Talking about party H Raja’s comments on Periyar and Lenin statue demolition, he said that ideologies should be fought with discussion and not violence. “We condemn all forms of violence even if our party members are involved in it. We have asked the cadre to maintain peace and law and order in the state,” he said.
When asked if steps would be initiated against Raja for posting the comments on social media, he said unbiased action should be taken against anyone involving in communal activities. But he said that Dravidian parties had a history of supporting alternate ideology and supporting those acting against the state.
“Everyone is jealous of BJP’s growth in the state and such acts only prove it. But BJP party leaders and the cadres will never support violence in any form and we will not involve in it as well,” he said.
