Yogi Adityanath duty to provide peaceful environment and security to pople celebrating Eid

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that he was a Hindu and did not celebrate Eid but it was his duty to provide peaceful environment and security to pople celebrating Eid and other festivals. He was replying to a debate over the motion of thanks to the joint address by Governor Ram Naik in the Assembly.

Targeting Samajwadi Party, Yogi said, “The BJP has toppled the red flag in Tripura and we are going to do the same with the ‘Lal Topi’ (red cap) in Uttar Pradesh. It is the era of Bhagwa (saffron) which represents ascension and development.”

“We will celebrate Deepotsav in Ayodhya, Holi in Barsana and Dev Deepawali in Kashi, Ramayana Mela in Chitrakoot and Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. I will participate in all celebrations as protection and promotion of these festivals is my government’s responsibility. Serving the poor and saturating poor family with basic minimum facilities is ‘Ram Rajya ‘of the BJP,” he said.

“The previous Samajwadi Party regime discontinued the old tradition of Janmasthmi celebrations in police stations and police lines. We have restored this tradition. They also stopped the daily show of Ram Lila at Ayodhya and Kirtan at Chitrakoot beside slashing regular power supply to Ayodhya. We will never allow this to happen as spiritual tourism has  huge potential in Uttar Pradesh which the previous government ignored,‘’ said the Chief Minister.

“During Holi in Mathura, a scribe asked me whether I will also celebrate Eid. I replied I am a Hindu and I do not celebrate Eid but my government will ensure safety and security to all citizens irrespective of caste and creed to celebrate their respective festivals and customs,’’ said Yogi.

``I take pride in being an inheritor of the ancient Indian civilization. We are not hypocrites like other leaders who wear Jenau (sacred thread) in private and wear skull cap in public places. There is no cause for me to be apologetic about my Hindu credentials,’’said the Chief Minister.

The coming together of Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party for Gorakhpur and Phulpur bypolls had an echo in the Assembly on Tuesday as Yogi targeted both parties saying,”The people of Gorakhpur and Phulpur will give a befitting reply to the opportunistic alliance.’’

“The SP joining hands with the BSP underlines the desperation of the former. The BSP must seek clarification whether the SP will not repeat incident like State Guest House,’’said the CM.

“I assure the BSP that such a thing can never happen under BJP rule and we will not allow the SP to accomplish its dream of  demolishing statues and memorials of great leaders of Bahujan Samaj like Dr Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram,’’ said Yogi.

The CM tore into Samajwadi party saying, “The Samajwad practiced by the SP is fake and spurious. Acharya Rajneesh had said that Samajwad was the biggest superstition of this era where the rich turn poor, poor turn slaves, intellectuals are fooled and their leaders become very powerful.’’

Taking further jibe at SP, he said “I can understand the cause of agony of SP leader as most nabbed by law enforcing agencies in the drive against land mafia and illegal mining were people linked to the SP. `We are clearing the mess which we inherited from you and the enforcement action is bound to cause trouble for SP leaders.”

Yogi Adityanath also listed heinous crimes in close to a dozen districts in the last 11 months in which those arrested by the police were from Samajwadi Party. Defending the drive against crime by the police, Yogi said, “The allegations of fake encounters are baseless and none can prove it. If the police are fired upon, they will respond. It’s not the police of previous regime where criminals killed police officers at Jawahar Bagh in Mathura and the police remained mute spectators.’’ The CM also apprised the House about the success of the two -day Investors’ Summit in Lucknow on February 21 and 22. He   said that so far 1074 MOUs have been signed with estimated investments of Rs 4.67 lakh crore.
