With shops closed and vacant roads, Srinagar bore a deserted look. According to Kashmir media, this situation followed when stone pelters hurled stones at security personnel who were posted near the mini secretariat at Shopian. As many as 20 people were injured when government forces lobbed tear gas to halt the protest. Shops and all other kinds of establishment remained shut on Wednesday.
