Woman held on charge of stealing phone

The Railway police on Tuesday arrested a 45-year-old woman on the charge of stealing the mobile phone of a lady passenger at the Ernakulam South station. The arrested is Sobha, a native of Thiruvananthapuram.

The accused allegedly stole the smartphone worth ₹18,000 from the rest room for lady passengers at the station in the morning. During a follow-up search, the police traced her to the South station, from where she was scheduled to board a train for Thiruvananthapuram.

The accused was working as a home nurse in Kochi.
