Rangpanchami celebrated with fanfare and gaiety

Colour-smeared people greeted each other and spread happiness, as the whole city celebrated Rangpancami with great fervour on Tuesday. Rangpanchami was today celebrated across the state with traditional fanfare and gaiety.

Colours of all hues, the smell of gulal and joyous spirit pervaded streets as people in the state capital celebrated Rangpancami. People exchanged greetings, visited friends and relatives, savoured the festive sweet gujia, and smeared gulal on each other’s face.

Children played with colours from their rooftops and splashed colour on people passing down the streets. They celebrated the festival by throwing Gulaal and colored powder.

Children enjoyed dancing, relished their favourite food and festival sweets, especially Gujiya, and celebrated the festival with a lot of joy and fervour. Police personnel were deployed across the city to keep a watch on anti-social elements.

Rangpachami Samaroh

Navyuvak Hindu Utsav Samiti took out a chal samaroh on the occasion of Rangpachami. The procession started from Shabri Nagar (Nehru Nagar) at 10.30 am and culminated at Manokamneshwar Mandir at Jawahar Chowk. The major attractions of the procession were Shiv Barat, Krishna Leela, Vanar Sena, DJ, dhols, bands etc. Mandir samitis. Holi samitis and trader organizations participated in the procession.

The procession passed through various localities including Kotra, Shivshakti Hanuman Mandir, Atal Market, Durga Hanuman Mandir, Hanuman Ma sheetla Mandir, Jhulelal Mandir etc. Huriyares and Samiti members took part in the chal samaroh including Mukesh Rai, Kunjilal Yadav, Pramod Verma, Satendra Negi, Manoj Dwivedi, Harish Meghani and others.
