Pedestrian critical after being hit by car

A man is in hospital with critical injuries after being struck by a car on a major Brisbane road.

The 43-year-old man was hit in the westbound lanes of Old Cleveland Road at Coorparoo about 9.45pm on Tuesday, police say.

The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, while the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
