Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi, a Malabar Hill resident who passed away on 15 January, has bequeathed all her wealth to Sanjay Dutt, states a Mumbai Mirror report. An avid Dutt fan, Tripathi willed the amount in her bank account, locker and several other valuables to the star. She nominated Dutt as the inheritor of her wealth in official letters sent to the bank, mentioning the actor's Pali Hill address on the documents.

Dutt had no clue of these developments before he was called by the police on 29 January, and informed of the will. He has, through his legal representative, wrote to the bank clearly stating that all the money should go to the deceased's family, according to the same report.

Tripathi lived with her mother in a Malabar Hill home and was battling a terminal disease. The fact that she had legally left everything to Dutt, came as a shock to the family as well. The family of the deceased has refused to comment on the matter. As for Dutt, his attorney has said that he will carry out all legal proceedings to transfer the valuables back to Tripathi's family.

He told Mumbai Mirror, that he is overwhelmed by Tripathi's gesture and wouldn't like to go into the details. He maintained that many fans name their children after their favourite actors, chase stars on the streets and shower them gifts, but this is something he has witnessed for the first time.
