On the second day of CBSE board exams Class X students who appeared for Hindi paper found it quite easy. Students said the questions were from the syllabus only. On Monday, students of Class XII who appeared in their English paper also found it easy though a lengthy one.
Most of students, who appeared for both Hindi Course A and Course B papers on Tuesday, said the paper was an easy one. However Section D which was the writing section was not so easy, they added. Teachers speculated that anyone who had attempted the last section carefully can easily score 60-70 marks. Teachers said that the writing section was to test the literary skill of the students and hence generally students find it difficult as compared to other sections.
The exam paper comprised four sections that included Comprehension of 15 marks, Grammar of 15 marks, Literature of 30 marks and Writing Section of 20 marks. Internal choices given in the question paper made it easier for students.
With a gap on March 7, Class X students have 'Foundation of IT' paper on March 8. On March 12, students will appear for English paper. On the other hand, keeping in view the extra pressure of examination on students, the CBSE has advised students to treat stress, anxiety, nervousness and worry merely as nouns.
CBSE chairperson Anita Karwal said the above to the students appearing for their board exams in a letter that also carries an encouraging message from a Harry Potter book. She recalled how she studied hard, revised and still found the time to listen to her favourite songs when she appeared for the examinations."What I don't remember is what my results were," said Karwal.
Over 28 lakh students have registered for the board examinations, which are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
"Marks do not define a person. So, do not permit stress, anxiety, worry, nervousness to stay longer in your being than a few moments. They are just 'nouns'. After all nouns cannot rule lives!," she said in the letter sent to schools across India.
Karwal added that she was in the first batch of students under the 10+2 system of the CBSE, which holds exams across the country for students in classes 10 and 12.
The system replaced the Higher Secondary examination, which was held after the 11th standard. The class X board examination was reintroduced from this year after the government decided to do away with the Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) adopted earlier.
