BCCI's new pay structure released: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma to earn more than MS Dhoni

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a new contract system and compensation structure for Indian Cricket (Senior Men, Senior Women & Domestic Cricket).

Two new categories have also been introduced: Category A+ introduced for Senior Men and Category C introduced for Senior Women.

Undwer the new pay structure, Grade A+ players will receive INR 7 crore each while Grade A players will receive INR 5 crore each. Grade B players will receive INR 3 crore each and Grade C players to receive INR 1 cr each.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have been clubbed in Grade A.

Grade A includes R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni and Wriddhiman Saha.

KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardil Pandya, Ishant Sharma and Dinesh Karthik find themselves in Grade B.

Kedhar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Suresh Raina, Parthiv Patel and Jayant Yadav have been clubbed in Grade C.

A new retainership fee structure was also introduced for the women's team. In the women's team, Grade A players will receive INR 50 lacs each while Grade B players will receive INR 30 lacs each. Grade C players will receive INR 10 lacs each.

The Grade A players are Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana.

Grade B has Poonam Yadav, Veda Krishnamurthy, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Ekta Bisht, Shikha Pandey, Deepti Sharma.

The likes of Mansi Joshi, Anuja Patil, Mona Meshram, Nuzhat Parveen, Sushma Verma, Punam Raut, Jemimah Rodrigues, Pooja Vastrakar, Taniya Bhatia are in Grade C.

The Domestic Match fee structure will witness an over 200 per cent hike in each category, the BCCI said.
