Work on the Vallakadavu bridge would begin on completing land acquisition, Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran has said.
Replying to a submission in the Assembly by V.S. Sivakumar on the delay in starting,
Mr. Sudhakaran said as per government decision, no construction work would be taken up without completing land acquisition.
This can be completed only through negotiated settlement, he said.
He asked Mr. Sivakumar to take the lead to complete the negotiation. Mr. Sudhakaran said setting up a Bailey bridge was not a viable option.
